What can you say about Black Sabbath that hasn't already been said? The very first cassette tape I ever bought with my own money was Ozzy Osbourne's Bark at the Moon. I was instantly hooked! I then worked my way backwards through the Ozzy catalog and found Black Sabbath. HOLY HELL! What a life changer! Timeless songs. I never got to see Ozzy on his own so this was one of my most anticipated shows I have ever bought tickets too. With me as always was Tim and his wife's uncle Scott. A cool guy. We tailgated a little before the show since there was no opening band. Just Andrew W.K. acting as a D.J. playing records. Not something any of us needed to see. Tim tailgated a little more than us and cought a nap after we got to our seats. I'm not sure how many songs he missed, but he was sawing some serious logs and I wasn't about to wake him!
Black Sabbath was promoting their album 13 which is just classic sounding Sabbath. Unfortunately Bill Ward was not a part of this album or tour, but Tommy Clufetos did an outstanding job filling in for Ward. As the intro music was playing, Ozzy was testing out his microphone and hyping up the crowd by saying "Cukcoo" . The set list is a greatest hits set with three songs from the new album thrown in.
War Pigs
Into The Void
Under The Sun/Every Day comes and Goes
Snowblind
Age of reason
Black Sabbath
Behind The Wall Of Sleep
Bassically/N.I.B.
End Of The Beginning
Fairies Wear Boots
Rat Salad/Drum Solo
Iron Man
God Is Dead?
Dirty Women
Children Of The Grave
Paranoid
The band was on fire! Ozzy's voice was not in the best shape. You could hear that the years were catching up to him. This did not take away from the experience. You felt for him, because you know he wants to give you 100% every show. Here are a few crappy pics.
Andrew W.K.
